Jess LOVED cake! Both baking and eating them. To celebrate her birthday this October we would like to invite you to buy a slice of ‘invisible’ cake. Your ‘invisible’ cake might be a creamy confection from a bakery, a piece of your favourite cake served in a tea shop, a tray bake in the form of a chocolate brownie or fruit flapjack, or even an exquisite 3 tiered creation served in a fancy hotel or restaurant. You can be sure whatever you choose, Jess would approve of them all! We would love to know what piece of invisible cake you are donating, so please feel free to tell us in your comments.
As this particular cake is 100% calorie-free and every penny will be donated to Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust, you can afford to feel especially good about this particular indulgence.
Stop Press: £1,431 raised!
Special thanks to The Tilbury, Datchworth

We are so grateful to the Temple Bar Lodge for their magnificent donation of £1500. This money will really make a difference in creating our training and awareness campaigns. Pictured here is wonderful supporter, Doug Brown, delivering the cheque to Jess’ Mum, Andrea, and Chair of the Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust. Their big smiles say it all!
This lovely chap is Dr Carl Westmoreland. Not only is he one of our hardworking and invaluable Trustees, but he has also been raising money for the charity through a Bake Sale at work. We can only assume A LOT of cake was consumed to raise a whopping £326! Thanks so much, Carl!
We are so grateful to the fabulous Gloria for choosing Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust to support during her annual Pupils’ Concert. She raised an impressive £305 (the most she has ever raised in over 40 years of teaching and organising concerts!). We hear the pupils were treated to these magnificent cakes and they proudly wore their 4 Jess wrist bands at school the next day. Thank you so much for your support!
Huge thanks and congratulations to Josh, who ran the Barcelona marathon on the 10th March 2024. He finished in under 4 hours and raised £780 for Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust. Great work, Josh! 👏
A lovely friend (and Jess’ favourite local actress 💕) has touched our hearts asking for donations to Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust in lieu of presents for her birthday.
She has raised over £1,000. We are sure you will agree that she is an absolute star and will want to join us in saying ‘Happy birthday, Natalie!
When Jess was at York uni there were two other Jesses in her friendship group. They called each other by their surnames to avoid confusion. One of the Jesses, Stacpoole, ran the London Marathon in April 2024 and raised £3,554 for Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust. Stacpoole wrote this on her Just Giving page.
“Brady will always be a core part of my uni experience, immediately bonding over a shared name, passion for creative fancy dress, and an insatiable appetite for tea and/or 2-for-1 cocktails. The type of friend you could count on, always the first to spot someone going through a rough patch, knowing exactly what to say/do to get you smiling. Brady was always there for you when you needed her…Brady, I run this marathon for you <3”
We are so grateful to Stacpoole.
What a fantastic achievement from St Joseph’s in The Park, raising £387 for Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust wearing their Christmas jumpers at the end of term. Their support is so appreciated. Thank you so much to the whole school community.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Macquarie Group for their incredible fundraising and support. We were deeply touched by the amazing efforts from all the colleagues and associates who participated during their October Foundation Week charity challenge raising a total of £38,000. Their significant contribution will make a huge difference in enabling us to create impactful training, to improve earlier diagnosis of cancer, within Primary Care.
We were delighted to be one of the two nominated charities to benefit from donations made at Hertford Choral Society’s Christmas concert on the 16th of December. It was a wonderful evening, and we are incredibly grateful to the members for their support. They raised an amazing £433.72.
Pupils from Impington Village College have been raising money in a style Jess would throughly approve of by holding several cake sales (Jess loved making and eating cakes!) So far they have raised £137.74 which is fantastic. We know they have more fundraising ventures for the Jessica Brady CEDAR Trust planned in the next academic year - so watch this space! A huge thank you to all involved, especially Helen Turner for spurring them on.
Hugh, Jessica’s brother, ran his first marathon on 2nd April in Brighton in an amazing 3 hrs 47 mins! So far Hugh has raised an incredible £4,369! It's not too late to head over to his Just Giving page and show your appreciation. We think he is amazing and Jess would be so proud of her little brother.
